Master Plan

Initial Rendering of CCU's Master Vision

The CCU Complex Overview

CCU, a former sand mine, is located in Crystal Springs, Missouri and fronts Plattin Creek, within a mile of it's intersection with the Mississippi River. It is 5,500,000 square feet  of enclosed underground climate-controlled space. It has 30-40 ft. ceilings.  The facility was originally created as a by-product of a sand mining operation. Consequently, thick pillars were systematically cut out of the rock, forming a asymmetrical grid.

Our Vision is to become a cultural and convention facility with the most unique sports and recreational amenities ever conceived to compliment our proposed green industrial facility.  Space is/will be available to extreme, recreational and Olympic venue sports operators and green industrial users. The CCU Sports & Industrial complex will be designed to accommodate separate access and common areas for each use. The floor plan of the facility will allow for easy build-out for your sports training needs. We are currently accepting business plans for consideration. Contact Us for more information, or take a look at our Rental Rates

Recent Progress on the Facility
  • Out-Door Stage - In Progress as of April 08
  • Security System - Completed May 08
  • Renovation of Bridge Deck - In Progress as of June 08
Cooperation For Economic Development

Our hope is to expand our master plan in conjunction with Crystal City, The City of Festus, and Jefferson County for the benefit of all. We intend to focus our efforts to attract entrepreneurs that will develop:

  • Hotels and a marina on the Mississippi River.
  • RV, cabin, and campground facilities.
  • An equestrian center with hundreds of acres of trails in an unspoiled natural atmosphere.
  • New residential developments.

CCU Partners

Festus Airport Expansion
Fiesta Corp is working with the FAA, Jefferson County, MODOT, The City of Festus, and The CAEE to develop a master plan and to facilitate the sale and expansion of the Festus Memorial Airport.  The expansion of the current runway to 5,000 ft. would enable twin engine airplanes and light jets to land within 5 miles of the Crystal City Underground complex.  Jefferson county would own and operate the airport. Deer Creek Golf Club
Deer Creek Golf and Country Club will be part of the master plan.  Deer Creek is owned by Tom and Kathy Kerr (Fiesta) in partnership with Kent and Linda Duneman.  Deer Creek Golf and Country Club is a magnificent 18 hole golf course nestled in a serene valley and boasts a 30,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose club house located 20 miles from the Crystal City Underground project. Please check out their website (www.deercreekstlouis.com) for more details.

Opposition to the Project
There has been an incompatible use proposed for the adjacent property (the old Pittsburgh Plate Glass Factory). An Iron Ore Smelter which would dredge up Plattin Creek to make a Barge Port, Contaminate Crystal City (and our property) and help to ship our natural resources out of the country. Please Visit the Concerned Citizens of Crystal City's (CCCC) website (www.clearpillar.com) for more details.
